Online Counselling

Space for you to think
Time for you to process
Together we can find the way forward
Welcome, my name is Sarah and I am a fully qualified trauma-informed integrative counsellor and I work from Person-Centred stance.
There may be many reasons you are considering talking therapy, it might be that you are feeling stuck following a difficult experience, or it might be that you want to change how you think and react to things. It might also be that you aren't sure why you are feeling unsettled, and want to talk it over with someone outside of your situation.
I work on a one-to-one basis with adults (individuals aged 18 years and over), and have experience working with people experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, loss, bereavement, depression, trauma, anger and listlessness.
My experience
I have over a decade of experience as a qualified counsellor. I have worked with Cruse Bereavement Scotland offering support via the phone and online to people going through bereavement and loss, I also worked with East Kent Rape Crisis centre with women who had experienced rape and/or childhood sexual abuse. I volunteered as a Samaritan for several years listening to and supporting people who were experiencing relationship or family problems, financial worries, job/college/university related stress, loneliness or isolation and thoughts of suicide.
My qualifications
I hold a BSc (hons) Psychology, a Diploma in Counselling, a COSCA Counselling Skills certificate and have several hundred hours of CPD qualifications including Certification in telephone and online counselling, Certification in Trauma-Informed practice, Advanced skills in male and female rape and childhood sexual assault, Enhancing therapeutic practice in grief and loss as well as many more.
I have studied at The Open University, University of Kent, University of Surrey and West Lothian College amongst others. I am a registered member of Confederation of Scottish Counselling Agencies (COSCA). I adhere to the COSCA Statement of Ethics and COSCA Code of Practice.
How online counselling works
Each counselling session is 50 minutes long and will happen on the same day each week at the same time. Prior to your appointment, you will receive an email with a Microsoft Teams meeting invitation for the time of your appointment. Microsoft Teams offers an audio only function where a camera is not required, you do not have to show yourself if you choose not to.
What do you pay?
Fees are based on a sliding scale ranging from £35 to £60 per session, depending on affordability and income. We would discuss this at our first meeting.
I offer one free 20 minute session where we can meet and consider how we might work together and for how long.
