FAQs
What is Integrative Counselling?
Working Integratively means that I am able to draw on techniques from different types of therapy to tailor an approach specifically for you. I believe that there isn’t just one therapeutic approach, instead, I will take into account your individual needs and your circumstances and can then use elements of different approaches to help you explore and cope with your problems.
What is Person Centred Counselling?
The underpinning principles of the Person-Centred approach are focused on the counsellor aiming to be honest, non-judgmental and fully accepting whilst being fully integrated in the relationship allowing the client to lead and set the pace.
Working from a Person-Centred stance means that I will aim to listen to you, non-judgementally, and together we can explore your thoughts and feelings to try and gain understanding and acceptance.
I find the Person-Centred approach fits my own philosophy as it has at its very core an unshakable belief that all people are good. Person-Centred counselling believes that each and every person can, and will, become a more fully functioning person if given the correct conditions.
How many sessions will i need?
I offer short term (6 or 12 weeks) and open ended arrangements, always with a view to support you to gain clarity, develop resilience and increase your ability to hold and integrate your experiences and feelings. We will discuss this during our initial meeting.
How do i know we will be a good fit?
I offer one free 20 minute session where we can meet and consider how we might work together and for how long.
